Purpose: The purpose of Monument Bible Church is to GLORIFY GOD.
Mission: Our mission is to introduce people to Jesus Christ and then encourage and develop them to become fully devoted learners/followers of Him and His Word. Subsequently, they enter into authentic fellowship with Him and His family, and are equipped and unleashed for ministry in the church and in the world.
Values: Monument Bible Church is committed to developing fully devoted learners/followers of Christ through...
- Exploring Truth: We value God's Word and believe that it is sufficient for everything we need pertaining to life and the pursuit of godliness; thus our proclamation and teaching from His Word is intensely biblical, expositional, and practical.
- Experiencing God: All of ministry that is expressed toward and led by God starts and ends with a heart that loves and worships Him. Therefore, providing leadership for personal and corporate worship is something we value.
- Entering Community: We were created to grow to become more like Christ as we live with and for others. As such, we value the importance of serving Him by serving His people in building authentic relationships through one-on-one, small group, and large group opportunities.
- Equipping for Ministry: We highly value that each and every believer is uniquely "shaped" by God and has been gifted to be a "minister" for Him. Thus, we are committed to equipping the body of believers to discover and unleash their God-given "shape" for ministry.
- Extending Outreach: We seek to follow the Lord's mission to reach others for Christ through training and providing opportunities for outreach.
Eternally Impacting Future Generations: Through this purpose, this mission, and these values it is our desire to become a "generational ministry" that eternally impacts both present and future generations.
We believe that...
- We believe that in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as verbally inspired of God, and inerrant in the original writing and that they are the supreme and final authority in faith and life. (Matthew 4:4,7,10; ; 2 Peter 1:19-20)
- We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19; John 1:1; John 6:27; Acts 5:3-4; Titus 2:12)
- We believe that Jesus was begotten by the Holy Spirit, and born of Mary, a virgin, and is true God and true man. (Luke 1:34-38, 2:52; John 1:1,18,4:6; 10:30-33, 14:9, 19:28)
- We believe that man was created in the image of God, that he sinned and so incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death (which is separation from God), and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature, and are sinners in thought, word, and deed. (Genesis 1:27; Romans 5:10-19; 2 Thessalonians 1:8)
- We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the grounds of His shed blood. (Romans 3:21-25; 1 John 2:1-2)
- We believe in the eternal security of the believer; that it is impossible for one genuinely born into the family of God ever to be lost. (John 3:36, 5:24, 10:28-29; Romans 8:35-38; Ephesians 1:13-14, 4:30)
- We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into heaven, and His present life there as High Priest and Advocate. (Acts 1:9-10; 1 Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 7:25, 9:24)
- We believe that all who receive, by faith, the Lord Jesus Christ, are born again by the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God. (John 1:12-14, 3:1-16)
- We believe in the bodily resurrection of believers; the eternal heavenly inheritance of the saved, and the eternal punishment of the lost. (Revelation 20:11-15)
- We believe in the scriptural ordinances of the church; Baptism and the Lord's Supper; that believers should be baptized as a symbol of their death, burial and resurrections with Him and that believers should celebrate the Lord's Supper or "communion" to proclaim His death until His return. (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 8:36-39, 10:43-48; 1 Corinthians 11:23-33)
- We believe in the imminent coming of Jesus Christ for His Church followed by the tribulation and the pre-millennial return of Christ to establish His kingdom up the earth. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Zechariah 14:4-11; Revelation 19:11-16, 20:1-6)
